Alice in Wonderland and another challenge!

Many of you will know that my favourite theme of all time is Alice in Wonderland! I love it all - cute Alice, kawaii Alice, horror Alice, Malice, even spin off Alice! My hen night was an Alice theme too!

So when Aud Sentiments was sponsored by the brilliant Rick St Dennis I had to choose his Crazy Alice image to work with this challenge.

Here is my creation:

I used the rose background paper and distressed it with spattered inks in Serif, then printed my digi, cut all round it closely, coloured it using promarkers, and positioned it. Alice and the cat are raised on foam pads.

I created the sentiment using a font called Dead Secretary, printed it, then distressed it with Tim Holtz (mahogany and soot I think), then placed that down flat.

The roses are clusters of embellishments printed out and then raised on a double layer of foam pads to make them "frame" above and around Alice. I hope that makes sense!

BY THE WAY...I have my most favourite sentiment set available over at the challenge blog right now. It's a circle set with interchangeable words! PLEASE do check it out and leave me some comment love if you like it or save it for later. I feel as though I put lots of time in to the sentiments and adore when I get a wee comment to say that it has been useful! Especially this set which took me a long time to make!

  2. Hey MC! I love this card- absolutely unique! First I love the coloring of Alice - really nice shadows and highlights! And yes, I do understand about the rose clusters framing Alice - makes it look a little like she is down the rabbit hole looking out! And of course, the sentiment is perfect!
Speaking of sentiments... I want to thank you for the latest freebies at Aud Sentiments... I really like the whole concept of the take a word and add it to the circle. That was inspired! But, you already would suspect my favorite is the beYOUtiful sentiment. I have a whole file started - 'MC's sentiments'- and I have already used several of them! Don't stop now... this is something that makes our site unique from all the rest... and though not many take the time to thank the artist, I think many are filing them all away like I am!
